Joseph Gehot: Chamber Music - Smithson String Quartet
Jaap Schröder & Jorie Garrigue, violins; David Cerutti, viola; Kenneth Slowik, violoncello
Koch/Schwann 3-1558-2H1
A real discovery! The peripatetic Belgian composer Gehot (1756-1820) spent much of his career in England and the United States, producing, to judge from the works included here, much eminently listenable chamber music, which the Smithson Quartet obviously enjoys bringing to light.
